General Physiotherapy
Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing ongoing pain, or trying to move better in daily life, our physiotherapy team is here to help. We assess the root cause of your symptoms, not just the surface problem, and create a personalized treatment plan focused on restoring function, strength, and confidence.
We treat a wide range of concerns including back and neck pain, sports injuries, post-surgical rehab, joint pain, headaches, and workplace strain. Sessions may include hands-on therapy, guided exercise, movement retraining, and education tailored to your goals.
Our approach is collaborative, practical, and compassionate. We want you to understand your body and feel empowered in your recovery.
Book your appointment and let’s get you moving comfortably again.
PELVIC FLOOR Physiotherapy
Pelvic floor physiotherapy focuses on restoring strength, coordination, and function to the muscles that support your bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. These muscles play a key role in continence, core stability, sexual health, and overall comfort.
We support individuals experiencing concerns such as pelvic pain, urinary leakage, urgency, painful intercourse, prolapse symptoms, pregnancy-related discomfort, and postpartum recovery.
Your assessment is always respectful, thorough, and consent-based. Internal assessment is offered only when appropriate and always with clear explanation and your full comfort in mind.
Treatment may include pelvic floor muscle retraining, breathing and core coordination work, manual therapy, movement education, and practical strategies you can apply in daily life.
Our goal is to help you feel confident, supported, and empowered in your body.
PRE/POST-NATAL PREGNANCY Physiotherapy
Pregnancy and postpartum bring profound physical changes. As your body adapts to growing, birthing, and recovering, it deserves skilled support.
Our prenatal and postnatal physiotherapy focuses on helping you move comfortably, prepare your body for birth, and recover with confidence. We address common concerns such as pelvic pain, back and hip pain, abdominal separation (diastasis recti), pelvic floor dysfunction, bladder changes, and post-delivery healing.
During pregnancy, we work on posture, breathing, core and pelvic floor coordination, strength, and birth preparation strategies. After delivery, we support tissue healing, scar care (C-section or perineal), pelvic floor rehabilitation, and safe return to exercise and daily activities.
Care is individualized, respectful, and education-focused. Our goal is not just symptom relief, but long-term strength and resilience for motherhood and beyond.
Book your session and let’s support your body through every stage of this journey.
TMJ (JAW PAIN) Physiotherapy
Jaw pain, clicking, locking, headaches, and facial tension can significantly affect your daily life. Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction often involves not just the jaw itself, but also the neck, posture, stress patterns, and muscle coordination.
Our TMJ physiotherapy assessment looks at the full picture — jaw mechanics, muscle tension, cervical spine involvement, breathing patterns, and contributing habits such as clenching or grinding.
Treatment may include gentle manual therapy to the jaw and surrounding muscles, neck treatment, mobility work, muscle retraining, posture correction, and education to reduce strain on the joint. We also provide practical strategies to manage flare-ups and reduce long-term irritation.
Our goal is to reduce pain, restore comfortable movement, and help you feel at ease in your jaw again.
Book your assessment and let’s address the root cause — not just the symptoms.
VESTIBULAR (balance & vertigo) Physiotherapy
Dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, and motion sensitivity can be unsettling and disruptive. Vestibular physiotherapy focuses on assessing and retraining the inner ear and balance system to help you feel steady and confident again.
We treat conditions such as BPPV (positional vertigo), post-concussion dizziness, vestibular neuritis, persistent imbalance, and visually induced motion sensitivity.
Your assessment includes a detailed history, positional testing when appropriate, eye movement evaluation, and balance screening. If BPPV is identified, specific repositioning maneuvers can often provide rapid relief. For more complex conditions, we design a personalized vestibular rehabilitation program to retrain the brain’s balance system safely and progressively.
Treatment may include gaze stabilization exercises, balance retraining, habituation exercises, and functional movement work tailored to your symptoms.
Our approach is calm, clear, and step-by-step. The goal is to reduce dizziness, restore stability, and help you return to daily life with confidence.
Book your assessment and let’s help you feel grounded again.
CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT Physiotherapy
A concussion can affect more than just your head. Symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, light sensitivity, fatigue, brain fog, neck pain, and difficulty concentrating can interfere with work, school, and daily life.
Our concussion physiotherapy focuses on a thorough assessment of your nervous system, vestibular function, neck mobility, visual tracking, and exercise tolerance. Concussion symptoms often persist due to a combination of factors, including cervical strain, vestibular dysfunction, and nervous system dysregulation — not just the initial injury.
Treatment is individualized and paced carefully. It may include graded return-to-activity planning, vestibular rehabilitation, neck treatment, visual-motor retraining, and progressive aerobic conditioning based on your tolerance.
Our goal is to guide your recovery safely and confidently, helping you return to work, sport, and daily life without triggering setbacks.
Book your assessment and let’s support your brain and body through recovery.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is an evidence-based treatment used to stimulate healing in chronic tendon and soft tissue conditions that have not responded fully to rest or traditional therapy.
It delivers controlled acoustic waves to targeted tissues, helping improve circulation, stimulate cellular repair, and reduce persistent pain.
Shockwave is commonly used for conditions such as:
• Plantar fasciitis
• Achilles tendinopathy
• Tennis or golfer’s elbow
• Rotator cuff tendinopathy
• Calcific shoulder tendinitis
• Chronic hip or knee tendon pain
Treatment sessions are brief and typically combined with a structured rehabilitation program for optimal results.
Shockwave therapy is most effective for long-standing, stubborn conditions where tissue healing has slowed. Your physiotherapist will assess whether it is appropriate for your specific case.
Book an assessment to see if shockwave therapy is right for you.
IMS/Dry-needling Therapy
IMS, also known as dry needling, is a technique used to treat tight, overactive muscles and persistent pain patterns. It targets myofascial trigger points — areas of muscle that remain shortened or hypersensitive due to injury, stress, or chronic strain.
Using a very fine needle, the physiotherapist stimulates specific muscles to help release tension, improve blood flow, and restore normal neuromuscular function.
IMS can be helpful for conditions such as:
• Chronic neck and back pain
• Shoulder tension and rotator cuff issues
• Headaches and jaw pain
• Hip and gluteal tightness
• Sciatica-type symptoms
• Persistent muscle tightness after injury
Treatment is often combined with corrective exercise, mobility work, and posture retraining to address the underlying cause of the dysfunction.
Some patients feel a brief muscle twitch or deep ache during treatment, followed by a sense of release or improved mobility.
Your physiotherapist will assess whether IMS is appropriate for your condition and ensure the treatment plan is tailored to your comfort and goals.
Book an assessment to see if dry needling can support your recovery.
Physiotherapy with Zimmer EMF/HEIT-High Energy Inductive Therapy
High Energy Inductive Therapy (HEIT) is an advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses electromagnetic fields to stimulate muscles, nerves, and circulation at a deeper level.
At our clinic, we use the Zimmer MedizinSysteme EMF technology to support recovery in both acute and chronic conditions.
This therapy works by delivering high-energy electromagnetic pulses to targeted tissues, which can:
• Reduce pain and muscle guarding
• Improve circulation
• Stimulate neuromuscular activation
• Support tissue healing
• Restore mobility
HEIT can be helpful for conditions such as:
• Acute back or neck pain
• Muscle strains
• Joint stiffness
• Post-surgical recovery
• Chronic pain conditions
• Neuromuscular weakness
Treatment is comfortable and performed with clothing on. Many patients report feeling muscle activation or a gentle pulsing sensation during the session.
HEIT is typically combined with hands-on physiotherapy and corrective exercise to address the root cause of dysfunction.
Your physiotherapist will determine whether this technology is appropriate for your condition and integrate it into a comprehensive treatment plan.
Book your assessment to explore whether High Energy Inductive Therapy can support your recovery.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a time-tested therapy that uses fine, sterile needles to stimulate specific points in the body to support healing, regulate the nervous system, and restore balance.
At The Compassion Centre, acupuncture is tailored to your individual goals — whether you are seeking pain relief, pregnancy support, stress regulation, or skin rejuvenation.
Types of Acupuncture We Offer
Traditional Acupuncture
Based on classical Chinese medicine principles, this approach focuses on restoring systemic balance and may support pain, stress, sleep, digestion, hormonal health, and overall well-being.
Medical / Contemporary Acupuncture
A more anatomy-based approach often integrated with physiotherapy. It targets muscles, nerves, and connective tissue to reduce pain, improve circulation, and support functional recovery.
Electroacupuncture
Gentle electrical stimulation is applied to specific needles to enhance therapeutic effect, commonly used for chronic pain and neuromuscular conditions.
Pregnancy & Birth Preparation Acupuncture
Used during pregnancy to support common concerns such as nausea, back pain, pelvic discomfort, and sleep challenges. In later pregnancy, acupuncture may be used to support natural labour preparation and, when appropriate and medically indicated, birth induction support. Care is always coordinated with your healthcare provider.
Cosmetic Acupuncture
A natural facial rejuvenation treatment that stimulates collagen production, improves circulation, and supports skin tone and elasticity. It may also help reduce facial tension and stress-related lines while promoting overall systemic balance.
Non-Registered Massage Therapy
Non-Registered Massage Therapy offers hands-on treatment focused on relaxation, muscle tension relief, and overall well-being. It is ideal for those seeking stress reduction, general muscle release, and supportive care in a calm, therapeutic environment.
This service may help with:
• Muscle tightness and stiffness
• Stress and tension-related discomfort
• Mild aches and postural strain
• General relaxation and recovery
Sessions may include techniques such as Swedish massage, gentle deep tissue work, and mobility-focused soft tissue release tailored to your comfort level.
Please note: Non-Registered Massage Therapy is not provided by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and is typically not eligible for extended health insurance reimbursement.
Our goal is to provide a soothing, restorative experience that supports both physical and mental relaxation.
Book your session and allow your body time to unwind and reset.
Massage Therapy
Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) focuses on the assessment and treatment of muscles, joints, and soft tissues to reduce pain, improve mobility, and support recovery.
Our RMTs provide therapeutic, clinically guided care for a wide range of concerns, including:
• Neck and back pain
• Muscle strains and sports injuries
• Headaches and jaw tension
• Postural strain
• Stress-related muscle tension
• Pregnancy-related discomfort
Each session begins with a brief assessment to understand your goals and symptoms. Treatment may include deep tissue work, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and mobility-based techniques tailored to your needs.
Massage therapy can be used on its own or as part of a coordinated care plan alongside physiotherapy, acupuncture, or counselling.
Our approach is professional, respectful, and goal-oriented — whether you are seeking pain relief, injury recovery, or preventative care.
Most extended health plans cover Registered Massage Therapy services.
Book your appointment and let’s support your body’s recovery and resilience.
Kinesiology
Kinesiology focuses on guided exercise therapy to improve strength, mobility, endurance, and overall physical function.
Our kinesiologists work with individuals recovering from injury, managing chronic conditions, returning to sport, or building long-term physical resilience. Exercise programs are structured, progressive, and tailored specifically to your goals and current ability.
Kinesiology may help with:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizing and Re-Processing Therapy)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain process and resolve distressing memories.
When a person experiences trauma or overwhelming stress, the nervous system can become “stuck,” causing memories to remain emotionally charged. EMDR uses guided bilateral stimulation — such as eye movements or tapping — to help the brain reprocess these experiences in a way that reduces emotional intensity and restores balance.
EMDR may support individuals experiencing:
• Trauma and post-traumatic stress
• Accident-related distress
• Childhood adversity
• Phobias
• Panic responses
• Persistent negative beliefs about self
• Grief or unresolved emotional experiences
EMDR is not about reliving trauma repeatedly. The process is paced carefully, with preparation and stabilization before deeper processing begins. Your therapist ensures you feel supported and regulated throughout each session.
The goal of EMDR is to reduce the emotional charge of painful memories, allowing you to move forward without being triggered by the past.
Book a consultation to explore whether EMDR is an appropriate approach for your healing journey.
Clinical Hypnosis
Clinical Hypnosis is a focused, guided therapeutic technique that helps you access a calm, attentive state where meaningful psychological work can occur more effectively.
Contrary to popular myths, hypnosis is not mind control or unconsciousness. You remain aware and in control throughout the session. Clinical hypnosis simply helps quiet mental noise and increase access to the subconscious patterns that influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
It may support concerns such as:
• Anxiety and stress regulation
• Phobias
• Habit change (e.g., nail biting, performance anxiety)
• Sleep difficulties
• Chronic pain coping
• Confidence and performance enhancement
• Trauma-informed work (when clinically appropriate)
Sessions typically begin with a discussion of your goals, followed by guided relaxation and structured therapeutic suggestions tailored to your needs. Many clients experience deep relaxation, improved clarity, and increased emotional regulation.
Clinical hypnosis is integrated thoughtfully within a broader counselling plan and is always collaborative and consent-based.
Book a consultation to explore whether clinical hypnosis may support your therapeutic goals.
